How information reaches the site

If you contact Channel Black Media, we receive your email address, the name you give, and the material you send. We use it to understand the enquiry, assess a correction or attribution issue, and reply where appropriate.

Please keep messages focused on the public material in question. Do not include confidential source identities, other people’s private details, or sensitive personal records. Ordinary email is not a confidential reporting channel, and this site does not offer a secure submission service.

  • Requests to load a page include information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser details, and the time of the request. Hosting and security systems may record that information to deliver pages, diagnose problems, and protect the site against misuse.
  • Where cookies or similar browser storage support a feature, browser settings let you inspect, restrict, or remove them. Restricting storage may affect the feature. Linked archives, publications, and other outside services have their own privacy practices.

Hosting and email providers may process information for those services. Disclosure may be necessary to meet a legal requirement, investigate harmful activity, or protect rights. Sending an editorial enquiry does not by itself authorize publication of your identity or private correspondence.

Records are kept according to their purpose and any continuing operational, dispute-related, or legal need. There is no single retention period appropriate to every message or technical record. No online transmission or storage system can promise absolute security.
